Eating and Drinking

Our location in Wellington is ideal for a range of eating & drinking establishments. From 5
star luxury restaurant on the same road as us (The Old Orleton), to around 20 independent
restaurants & pubs offering food in the centre of Wellington including Italian (La Rosa),
Cantonese ( Ho Mei Village), Bangladeshi (The Dhaka) and even a new traditional, sit down
Fish and Chip restaurant (Smithfields) brand new in 2010.
Wellington also has a number of real ale pubs serving a selection of beers from brewers all
over the UK. Our local pubs do very well in the regional Campaign for Real Ale awards and
Wellington even has its own Ale Taster. The market dates from 1244 and the Ale taster kept
a close eye on the quality of ales sold locally up until the mid 1800s. Recently re-introduced,
the ale taster has a more ambassadorial role but it shows how seriously we take our beer
here!
A little further afield we have Ironbridge and Shrewsbury, each with another set of exotic
and indigenous eateries and public houses. If you came here each week for a year, there is
no reason why you couldn’t eat in a different place each evening. We’re happy to help you
find a restaurant to suit your needs.
