Out and About

We are blessed with a unique combination or rural attractions and large town amenities in
Wellington and Telford.
Wellington town centre is a five minute walk away from us where you can find a public
swimming pool & gym, library, food and drink (link), traditional market, railway station, bus
station and churches. Across the road from us is Bowring Park, featuring free tennis courts
and lawn bowls. For the more adventurous visitor, the 1335ft Wrekin can be ascended on
foot from here in 2 hours or less if you run! See if you can spot the Fallow and Muntjac deer
in the forest.
Into Telford and you have a ten screen Odeon cinema, Ice Skating, Ten Pin Bowling, Mecca
Bingo, the amazing Telford Town Park and Wonderland covering over 1.7km with children’s
play areas, fishing pools and pedaloes. Telford Centre is a five minute train ride from
Wellington, or a ten minute drive.
In Oakengates, you can visit The Place, a 600 seat theatre which attracts comedy stars, plays,
exhibitions and musicians from around the world. We are around 10 minutes by car or taxi,
or five minutes via the train.
